Earl Jones, Jr. serves as Principal for The Florida Group. In this role, Earl utilizes his experience developed over many years working in Florida’s lawmaking process to assist TFG’s clients with the implementation of successful government relations strategies.
Prior to joining TFG, Earl formed a valuable network of contacts in Tallahassee and developed strong personal and professional relationships with elected and appointed officials in Northeast Florida and beyond, which is a tremendous asset to our team. He previously served as Chief Legislative Aide to former State Representative Tracie Davis (D-Jacksonville), who is now a member of the Florida Senate. Earl was also top aide to former Representative Reggie Fullwood (D-Jacksonville) during his time in the Florida House of Representatives. Throughout his time working in the Legislature, Earl assisted with drafting legislation and bill amendments, helped manage the progress of policy initiatives and appropriations projects throughout the legislative process, and worked with various industry stakeholders on a variety of federal, state and local issues. He also frequently served as liaison between Representatives Davis and Fullwood and a variety of community organizations, attending numerous legislative and community events and working with constituents and others.
With a strong dedication to community service, Earl has been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida as well as Take Stock in Children for nearly a decade. Upon leaving his role with the Legislature, Earl served as Area Development Director for Hunger Fight, a nonprofit organization working to end hunger and illiteracy for Florida children.
Earl holds a degree in Community Health from the University of North Florida. While he’s originally from New Jersey, Jacksonville has been Earl’s home for more than 20 years. He’s a proud “Girl dad” who gives his time and efforts to making a difference in the community.
